The Amhara region has announced that it is working to enable 1 million women to work in various agricultural jobs to benefit from Lemat crops.
Western Gojam Women’s League in collaboration with Finote Selam City Administration held a Zonal Women’s Lemat Turufat Movement with the theme “I will eat balanced food, I will produce everything from my door”

In Finote Selam city, women who are successful in gardening and animal resources development have been consulted and visited.
Mrs. Yeshemebet Embiyale and Mrs. Bosena Shiferaw are residents of Finote Selam city. The individuals have not been using the backyard because of lack of awareness.  Based on the understanding they gained from the beginning of the year, they said that they are growing their economy by selling different vegetables in their compound.Western Gojam

The garden they dream of is the beauty of the yard and gives satisfaction to the mind.
Other women were also advised to plant vegetables on their own land to withstand the rising cost of living and provide adequate food for their families.
West Gojam zone development party women’s league vice manager Shegaye Yaregal stated that more than 29 thousand women have benefited from Lemat Turufat in the zone’s 2014 budget. They are planning to empower more than 114 thousand women this year.
Leaders from zone to kebele should work to enable women to benefit from agriculture.

Western GojamEleni Abay, the head of the women’s league of Amhara region, who was present, said that more than 450 thousand women benefited from the gardening development last year. She said that 1 million women will benefit from the farming, animal development, poultry and other agricultural sectors this year.
In order to build a generation with a better mind, increase production and productivity, raise our economy and to be self-sufficient with food, women should cultivate their land in their backyard.
Leaders invited from different woredas said that they will work with the participation of stakeholders to make the overall benefit of women widely implemented.
Abeba Mola, the head of the women’s league in Finote Selam city has said that 2300 women have been working successfully in Lemongrass fields in 2022 budget year.
