THE NATIONAL LIBERATION ARMY, ELN EXTENDS A FRATERNAL GREETING

The North-eastern War Front Commander in Chief Manuel Pérez Martínez, of the National Liberation Army, ELN extends a fraternal greeting to the Colombian People, a benchmark of struggle and dignity.

We inform public opinion that the military action carried out on March 29 of the current year against the Government Army, in the Township of Guamalito, Municipality of Carmen, Department of Norte de Santander; It is in response to the militarisation in the region, the abuses by the public force against the civilian population, the assassinations of social leaders, Human Rights Defenders and against the alliance that it maintains with narco-paramilitary groups sponsored by the Colombian State.

It is also in rejection of the massacre carried out by the State Military Forces in the rural area of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, on January 28, 2023, where 7 comrades were captured alive and later murdered defenceless in front of the civil population; The current Colombian Government, which has expressed its public condemnation of State terrorism and has affirmed that it will not condone corruption or violations of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law within the Armed Forces, did nothing in the face of this War Crime.

As long as they continue to terrorise and assassinate the civilian population with the alliance of the Military Forces and the narco-paramilitaries, we will remain firmly in the fight, fighting militarily the state and para-state forces, which for several years have been bleeding our people dry.

We invite the general population to continue fighting together, against the US bourgeoisie and imperialism, in defense of true peace with social justice, democracy and equity, until reaching true and definitive independence; Do not be confused by the demagogy that the Colombian oligarchy reports in the media.
